· Meet with, your client and potential indemnitors, before arraignment, to help provide guidance regarding “reasonable” bail amount your client may be able to post.  You may find this information useful during the bond setting portion of the arraignment.  This will allow Mike to be ready to post a bond at the arraignment

· When the defendant retains an attorney we feel this is a strong indication that your client is more likely to appear at all hearings, this will be reflected in our underwriting

· With our “special” underwriting, we can be more flexible regarding collateral, perhaps eliminating it for even larger bonds

· With our “special” underwriting, we can be more flexible regarding the amount of premium we would require as a “down payment”

Mike spent 32 years in the telecommunications business eventually retiring from Ameritech.  He had a diverse career with Ameritech which included positions in computer operations, economic development, government affairs and sales.  Mike’s work in economic development gave him the opportunity to assist communities throughout Michigan to strengthen their business segment.  In government affairs Mike worked with legislators to pass an innovative telecommunications bill.  Mike’s Ameritech sales experience included selling equipment, training and the sales of a variety of products to smaller independent telephone companies.

 

The last seven years of Mike’s career, he was the sales manager for Michigan Lawyers Weekly and Ohio Lawyers Weekly.  He sold advertising to various types of business that wanted to sell products or services to attorneys.  Mike also sold ad space to attorneys in the lawyer referral section of the paper.  His work with Lawyers Weekly gave him the opportunity to work with many lawyers in Michigan and Ohio.  During this time Mike learned much about attorneys practices and about their clients.  He associated with attorneys from all practice areas, including criminal defense attorneys and attended many conferences that were sponsored by attorneys or produced for the benefit of attorneys.

 

It is Mike’s relationship with the criminal defense attorneys that brought him to Budget Bail Bond Agency.  After studying and working with Gene Butler, owner of Budget Bail Bond Mike realized what outstanding service this agency can provide to attorneys as well as their clients.  We are located throughout Michigan and with locations in Ohio as well.  Budget is also able to provide bail bond services in many other states.   Not only does Gene Butler have 28 years in the business and has an outstanding reputation with attorneys, clients, judges, the courts and jails.  Due to extensive experience in the bail bond business and the agency’s size, we are able to provide services that can assist attorneys, which perhaps others cannot.  Mike is working with criminal defense attorneys around the state to share with them the benefits of recommending Budget Bail Bond Agency to their clients, families and supporters.

 

In addition to the classes and special training Mike received while working at Lawyer’s Weekly, he has completed a rigorous bail bond training program at our corporate office in Flint to prepare him for the specialty area of the criminal justice system of underwriting and posting bail bonds in throughout the state.

 

Mike’s  knowledge of our underwriting and financing programs as well as how to qualify bail bonds without the use of collateral, combined with his extensive experience working with attorneys throughout Michigan and Ohio, will make him extremely valuable to his potential clients.
